The Petroleum Institute: job description
A Postdoctoral position is currently available for GRC funded project for the development of anti-corrosion self-healing coatings for gas pipelines and storage tanks at the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate should be capable of generating polymer (polyelectrolyte) layers on the surface of organic and inorganic particles and subsequently formulating them into organic and inorganic industrial anti-corrosion coating systems.
Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical or polymer engineering (or related area) with expertise in nanoparticles modifications with polymers, coating formulations (both organic and inorganic) etc. Experience with corrosion testing would be desirable. Knowledge on theoretical modeling the systems would be beneficial. There are tremendous opportunities for research collaboration with the PI’s industrial stakeholders, as well as the affiliated universities.
We are particularly interested in candidates with the following qualities:
Salary/Benefits: Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
